Joe West commented that the Yankees and Red Sox were, in his words ---"They're the two clubs that don't try to pick up the pace," said West, the chief of the umpiring crew working the three-game series, according to the report. "They're two of the best teams in baseball. Why are they playing the slowest?" OK Joe, here are a few things to consider while you are sitting out your soon to be handed down suspension;
First, YOU are the Umpire. You have one of the smallest strike zones in the league. You want to speed things up? Call strikes.
Second. You are the biggest showboat out there. The game is not about you Joe, no matter how much you believe it is.
and third. Read up on the definition of "internal memo" because that is how a this situation should be handled.
